$30.66

I took my penny bag(s) to the coin machine and ended up with $30.66.
Stuart said I should have just taken them to the bank.
But that would have required driving to the bank, taking the kids inside the very nice lobby and having a panic attack about what they could or could not break in a 5 minute window.
So I settled for the easier, although taxed way (I actually ended up with $33.98 but had to pay for use of the coin machine)

Tyson and I are having a lovely go of allergies.
Blah.
He threw up three times yesterday but I think they were all from coughing too much.

Turbo has a flea allergy.
Who knew?
After a costly visit to the vet, a shot, two prescriptions, and a heart worm/flea preventative,
we can now add another member of our family who is allergic to Texas.
Yay!

Today is trash day which has absolutely no consequence to you but the boys LOVE to watch the trash truck come and pick up the trash can, so I felt like sharing.

Can you say a prayer for my friend Jessica and her husband? They have decided to adopt from Reece's Rainbow and I could not be more excited for them! (Andrea, this would be a perfect blog friend for you!)
Their journey is just beginning and I know that God has it all planned for them and their soon-to-be son!

More Wedding Pictures

This may be my FAVORITE picture from my sister's wedding!
Doesn't it just scream, "I need to be framed!"?

Giving the toast.

Easter Part II

So Saturday night the Easter bunny stayed up to put together these two baskets. They were neatly left on the bar, placed in front of the appropriate child's chair.

Then those little cherubs woke up. They were only allowed one piece of candy before church. That didn't go over so well.

Tyson

 Tucker (aka, the pirate smiler)

I insisted on pictures before we left for church knowing if I didn't take them the boys would ruin their clothes and I would have nothing to show for their oh-so-adorable sweater vests and daddy ties.

 For the past couple of weeks, we have headed to Krispy Kreme after church (we go to the 8:30 am service). Easter was no exception. The boys love watching the donuts being made and Stuart loves the hot, fresh donut given to each member of our family (I usually give mine to him) whilst we wait in line.

This set of pictures can also be titled, "Tucker is ridiculously happy and high on sugar."

 Our family!
(It's a miracle we got all four of us into the scope of the camera lens)

Happy Easter!

Easter Part I

Our weekend began on Friday night with a fabulous birthday party for a hip little 3 year old. Tucker decided that the party hat was a must have even the next morning.
Saturday we headed to my sister and brother-in-law's for an Easter Celebration. The boys love going to their house because they have a big backyard and their cousin T has different Legos then they have.
As soon as we arrived, the boys spotted the zip line and it became the thing to do.

{pardon my sideways videos}

While the daddies hid eggs in the backyard, the mommies wrangled kids in the front yard while my SIL read about Easter.
Yup, that's Tucker with his basket on his head.
Oh my gracious, I just love these boys!
Waiting in line to get some eggs.
Egg hunting and checking out their finds.
The day continued to the lake where we "freed" the turtle that Stuart brought home {it was hanging out on the highway and he clearly couldn't just leave it there}.

Day two coming....

He is Risen!

Low in the grave he lay, Jesus my Savior,
waiting the coming day, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph o'er his foes;
he arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah!
Christ arose!
Vainly they watch his bed, Jesus my Savior,
vainly they seal the dead, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph o'er his foes;
he arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah!
Christ arose!
Death cannot keep its prey, Jesus my Savior;
he tore the bars away, Jesus my Lord!
Up from the grave he arose;
with a mighty triumph o'er his foes;
he arose a victor from the dark domain,
and he lives forever, with his saints to reign.
He arose! He arose!
Hallelujah!
Christ arose!

Easter Presents

{on our way to Uncle Dr. J's office}

Tyson: Mommy, I want the Lego construction Tucker crane for Easter.
Me: Oh really?
Tucker: You can't have a Tucker crane!
Tyson: Yes I can! That's what I'm getting for Easter!
Me: Tucker, Tyson CAN have a Tucker crane. Tyson, I'm not so sure that a giant Lego crane is going to fit into your Easter basket.
Tyson: Well, I think that's what I want.
Me: Ok.
Tucker: I want a baby in a present!
Me: Oh, like the gold baby we got out of the King Cake?
Tucker: NO!!! I want a REAL baby in a present.
Me: A Real baby? In a present?
Tucker: Yes! I want a REAL baby.
Tyson: Like a baby sister!
Me: Oh no.

In Other News

Tyson is completely and totally registered for Kindergarten.
My heart has not stopped spasming every time I think about how grown up he is.
We closed on our house.
Yesterday.
We are homeowners two times over now.
Yippee!
Tyson also has pink eye.
Uncle Dr. J confirmed that yesterday along with the fact that Tyson has chigger bites and the impetigo that he had a few months ago.
This also means that Tucker will probably have pink eye shortly.
Hooray!
Turbo has some nasty stuff going on as well.
My SIL thinks it might be skin allergies and/or skin allergies from flee bites.
I think we just need to fumigate the entire house (that is now ours!).
Rachael wrote a new update on Luke.
You can read it here.
We have a jam packed weekend;
which unfortunately does no include any home projects.
Oh, and my charming husband got to fly to OKC in his company's jet.
Yeah, he's a high roller now.

Call Me Overprotective

Last night we ventured out to dinner. It was a beautiful night (one that is in short supply here especially when the highs are forecasted in the 90s all week) so we settled on a kid-friendly sandbox and outdoor dining. The boys absolutely love the sandbox and we love the ability to let them play while not eating at a fast-food restaurant. BUT (you knew there was a but right?!) I was (and constantly am) baffled by other parents and their lack of parenting. So, I did what I do best: I complied a list.

  1. I know that everyone can't get a table right next to the sandbox, but just because you are in ear shot from your offspring does not mean that you should yell at them every 30 seconds.
  2. Get off your behinde and walk over to your screeching, heathen child. Yes, this requires operating more than your mouth.
  3. Please, please don't EVER yell across the patio at ME asking if MY child is holding the rake that is being flung thru the air. A) that is most definitely NOT my child and B) I am liable to actually shoot lasers out of my eyes.
  4. Apologize when the real mom of the aforementioned rake flinger surfaces to half-heartedly discipline her spawn.
  5. Just because you can somehow pour your body into skinny jeans does NOT mean that you should attempt such fowl acts. Oh, and, your boobs are way too big for that lace contraption you call a bra. Trust me, when your girls are hanging out more than they are tucked in, you need to face the fact that you aren't 15 and go to the women's section in the store.

A Letter

Dear house,

Could you kindly go ahead and put yourself together?
There are only a few minor things:

OK?
That would be great.
Oh and while you're at it, can you go ahead and do the laundry, iron, and clean the bathrooms?
You're the best!

Regards,

Mine?

I think this might be my dream kitchen.

And I totally think it's possible. White upper cabinets. Black(ish) lower cabinets. White counters (already have). Stainless appliances (check there too). I can see this people!

You can find it here along with so many other ridiculously awesome make-overs.

Padre Island Take 2

Last Saturday we woke up and reality hit us square in the face. We have SO MUCH to do on this house. Namely, install the microwave, install the dryer (which finally came!), paint, finish decorating, etc. With all the joy looming over our heads we decided to take a break and head to Padre Island again. I know, we are the masters at procrastination!
This time was completely different than the first time the boys saw the ocean. For one, the water was warm. Two, there were lots and lots of other sun goers out and about and taking all the good parking spots. But fun we had and the boys got to play in the sand and go out "really far!" in the ocean.

It was pretty fantastic AND we stopped and ate at Snoopy's on the way home. (And now I want some shrimp)

09 April 2011

All is well

Stu came back from the south and took one long look at my poor computer and proclaimed what I already knew but was hoping was really not true, my computer was a goner.
You have no idea how much this hurt.
Not because I was out of the technology loop but because there were some very important things on that computer:
PICTURES.
It's crazy, I know.
You would think that we would have learned after that last time something similar to this happened and I lost 6 months worth of pictures to constantly back up my computer.
But I haven't.
And I just knew that this nightmare was starting all over again.
Fortunately, my husband being the awesome man that he is was able to recover just about everything off of my hard drive.
I have no idea how he knows how to do the things that he does, but he does and I am so thankful for that.
So...last night Stu made his way to a local store and came home with a nice, brand new laptop.
Just.For.Me.
:)
And so today I have been navigating the waters of newness.
It's completely clean and without defuncked keys.
It's shiny.
The screen is clean.
All my pictures have been transferred over.
Hallelujah!
My favorites didn't make the switch but that's ok.
If I could find the cord for my phone, I would take a picture of this beauty but that will just have to come later.
For now, the world is getting back to normal.
Phew.

06 April 2011

Dead

My computer died.
As in it won't work.
At all.
I dropped it yesterday in a dash to pick up Tucker, who had fallen off the couch.
It's never good to drop your computer.
But it is REALLY bad to drop it when your fix-it husband is spending the night at work and can't try to revive the comatose google-machine.
I tried everything in my very limited brain to make it do something, anything, but I failed.
And to add insult to injury, my sister's wedding pictures are now viewable and I am unviewable.
It's a very sad day.
